Sweden’s most prestigious and longest-running boat show

Every March, Allt för Sjön kicks off the boating season. For years, visitors have come here to meet experts, discover the latest products, and prepare for the seasons ahead on both lakes and seas.

In 1903, the Automobile and Motorboat Exhibition was held at the Old Sports Park (today’s Stadion) and in the waters by Djurgårdsbron in Stockholm. The exhibition is considered the world’s first boat show. The exhibition then took place again at Djurgårdsbron in 1905 and 1907, attracting visitors from around the world.

After the exhibition had lain dormant due to the First World War, the Royal Motorboat Club (KMK) decided to revive the exhibition to try to increase interest in motorboats as pleasure boats. The exhibition was relocated to Saltsjöbaden in May 1922 and is considered the first industry exhibition featuring everything for the sea.

The exhibition was very successful, and it was decided to hold it again, this time at Liljevalchs Konsthallar on Djurgården in 1929.

The name “Allt för sjön” was coined in the early 1930s and has been hosted at the Stockholm International Fairs (Stockholmsmässan) since the early 1970s. The fair has become a natural meeting place for boat and archipelago enthusiasts of all ages, and now, 100 years later, it continues to sail ahead at full speed.

Red lacquered mahogany, shiny oak, or fast aluminum? Whatever your preferences may be, you can count on getting a hefty dose and then some when you visit during any of the fair days. Of course, you can also expect a plethora of accessories and packed stage programs as well.

Allt För Sjön opens its doors to a world of endless inspiration, news, and the opportunity to find your dream boat – whether it’s a kayak, sailing dinghy, or motorboat.
