The shrink wrap lives on
We often get questions about what happens to all the plastic used and consumed during Allt för sjön. A lot of plastic is indeed used, especially shrink wrap, to protect the boats during transport to Stockholmsmässan. At our other fairs and previously at Allt för sjön as well, all plastic has been recycled into pellets that are then used to make new plastic products.
This year, we are partnering with Sweboat and their partner Orbit for the collection and recycling of shrink wrap. Through Orbit’s work, efficient recycling of the plastic is ensured, where the material is recycled and converted into new shrink wrap that is then distributed throughout Sweden.
Every ton of plastic that Orbit recycles makes one Swedish resident climate-neutral, which means we contribute significantly to reducing our environmental impact.
By collecting and recycling, shrink wrap is given a new lease on life. Together, we are working towards a more sustainable future for the boating industry.
